Finally IOS 8 is out. And it has brought many new cool features. I'm still testing and finding new hidden features on my iDevices.
Here we are not discussing anything about the new features. You might find it elsewhere in this blog.
But I want to write about one thing that they could have done better. There might be many but, this was something I was expecting them to improve.
SIRI
The great SIRI still lacks it's vitality. When Apple brought SIRI first time, everyone was talking about it...every media was discussing about it. But it seems like they couldn't help SIRI much do things in a better way. While the "Google now" ( I haven't tried Cortana) is doing way ahead, why can't Apple improve SIRI?
The iOS 8 allows us to command SIRI without pressing the home button, by saying "Hey Siri", but, only when it's connected to the power. WTF? Why can't they make Siri responds that way even it's not plugged in? I don't understand Apple's point in this.
If your phone is a bit away from you and you wanna listen to some music, you could have just said " Hey Siri, Play some music". But may be they need another decade I guess, to think in that way.
Another thing, while connected to power, if you say " Hey Siri", it just responds "hi" and that's it. The conversation ends there. It doesnt listen what do you have to say to it. Again you have to say, "Hey Siri, play xxx song" to get something done. And again the conversation stops there. If she doesn't understand, she should be active to listen again. But you either have to say the key word again or press the home button to make her active again. This is a bug I feel. After replying "Hi" or "How can I help you" , it should listen , or it should be active , to receive our command. But no, it doesn't.
Hope Siri will do a better job with iOS 8.1.
